Too bad Matt Hughes donʻt push himself like BJ, maybe he would know what actually happened last night. BJ is and always will be our favorite fighter. What other prize fighter in the world has taken on this much different weight class fighters just to scrap and get in the ring with the best. The fight here is not from last night or last year. Its a fight that he took a while ago after his 1st win against Matt Hughes to hone his skills as the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Well last night BJ went up in weight again against Matt Hughes and took one of our fallen boys with him.
Last night BJ obviously knew he was going to win the minute he decided to take Andy Irons in the ring on his shoulders. Penns walk out attire featured a one-of-a-kind longsleeve shirt that read A.I. WOULD SCRAP, signifying the simple fact that he loves HAWAII and all his boys who were once and still is a part of his life. For those of you who dont know, A.I. stands for Andy Irons a friend of BJ Penns who was a World Champ Surfer from the beautiful Country of Kauaʻi HI, need I say more. Bob Marley Day, Inik and The BTP was set to open for Mike at Pakini Grill. Inik called me up and said dont miss this one. The very next morning it was Naea, Tawns Inik and myself headed to Waimea. Ended up witnessing By far the BEST live performance on our Island ever. Confident enough to say that everyone at this performance feels the same way.
